A Declaração de Independência e a Declaração de Balibó

Com a intenção de impedir a grande invasão, a FRETILIN declarou unilateralmente a independência a 28 de Novembro e formou governo.

Em resposta, a 29 de Novembro, elementos dos outros quatro partidos políticos timorenses declararam a integração de Timor-Leste na Indonésia ao assinar a "Declaração de Balibó".

Portugal e a comunidade internacional não reconheceram nenhuma destas duas declarações.

Deklarasi Kemerdekaan dan Deklarasi Balibo

Demi mencegah invasi besar-besaran, Fretilin mendeklarasikan kemerdekaan pada 28 November 1975 dan membentuk sebuah pemerintahan.

Sebagai tanggapan, para anggota dari empat partai politik lain di Timor Leste mendeklarasikan integrasi Timor-Leste ke dalam Indonesia dengan menandatangani 'Deklarasi Balibo' pada 29 November.

Portugal dan komunitas internasional tidak mengakui kedua deklarasi tersebut.

The Declaration of Independence and the Balibó Declaration

In an attempt to prevent full-scale invasion, Fretilin unilaterally declared independence on 28 November 1975 and formed a government.

In response, members of four other East Timorese political parties declared the integration of Timor-Leste into Indonesia by signing the 'Balibo Declaration' on 29 November.

Portugal and the international community did not recognise either declaration.
